“At the heart of the Dior autumn-winter 2022-2023 ready-to-wear collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri’s creations entwine aesthetics and technology, thus revisiting the Dior heritage. A fascinating exploration between past, present, and future” Dior Fashion House shared on their website.
Coming to Paris Fashion Week 2022, Christian Dior overwhelmed the fashion field with a unique combination of fashion and technology. Perhaps it wouldn't be surprising if, in this collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri simply honored the Dior woman with designs inherited from the fashion house's heritage as in previous seasons, but this time, female The Creative Director showed his new vision through a series of technological innovations that accentuated the bold bourgeois designs in the collection.
Previously, during the presentation of the Dior Haute Couture Spring Summer 2022 collection, designer Maria Grazia Chiuri once said that she herself did not care much about the bustle of the fashion village in the metaverse era. Because for female Creative Directors, the most important thing and holding the core role of the fashion industry is still people. Therefore, no matter where her collections are inspired, the only destination is towards charming but equally strong women. Indeed, the Italian designer has once again affirmed her ideal with a fashion collection that combines the heritage of the 75-year-old fashion house and modern technology at Fashion Week 2022.
To turn ideas from drawings into reality, Maria Grazia Chiuri teamed up with D-Air Lab, a startup specializing in the production of equipment like the Antarctica Suite, which allows scientists to work in a low-temperature environment. A version of that outfit finished with electronic controls, as well as variations of the company's airbag jackets also appeared in Dior's Fall/Winter 2022 collection with a soft, flowing figure. Through this, the current Creative Director of Dior has brought the perfect balance between the human element that she cherishes so much and the breakthrough technology development of this era in each design.
